Annette O'Toole grew up in the Houston dance studio that was run by her mum. As a young girl of two, she first appeared on television as a child in the Don Mahoney Kids Trooper Show. The mother of her daughter were ten years of singing, dancing and dancing prior to that, moved to LA for a full year around 13 to see the possibility of being able to make a living from show business. In just two short months she secured her first paid job, performing in the Danny Kaye Show with Danny Kaye. She says that she has utilized her dancing and singing abilities in a variety of ways. Her greatest passion, despite her television and film success was theatre. After a six-year run on Smallville she decided to devote her time to theatre and acting, which she'd been doing in the past ten years. She was in New York and her first audition resulted in her being part of The Sea Gull.
